In simple terms, the purpose of the Conference & Study Center is to provide a staging area for sustainable product review. Sustainable, green building and clean waterfront reviews will contribute to both the construction field office operations and residential sales presentations.
Space at the completed Beach House building includes a public sustainable (green) product library and an ongoing training center for the local community, building trades, contractors, and interested professionals. The modular LEED certified study center features:

Low Environmental Impact: The building was designed and positioned to fit into the landscape with no harsh impact. The foundation piers and “raised” underpinning were constructed to not impede the natural flow of rainwater or percolation of runoff.
Recycling: Recycled siding, floor tile and acoustical ceiling tiles were used as well as lumber from a managed replenished forest.
Energy Efficiency: A heat pump delivers quiet and high efficient climate control and the lights are switched in a way that conserves power from energy saving ballast and T-5 fluorescent lights.
Healthy Indoor Air Quality: The walls contain paperless drywall and were painted with non-toxic (no VOC) paint.
Daylighting and Ventilation: The building was positioned for the greatest benefit of daylighting. Sun tunnels deliver natural light to the center of the building and large operable windows equipped with adjustable blinds reflect light to the ceiling and classroom.
‘Green’ Modular Construction:
- Decreased energy costs
- Reduced site disruption
- Minimal environmental impact
- Reduced product waste, due to factory-based recycling
